Softbank unveils American English learning AI robot Musio X for Japanese market

Softbank Japan today unveiled the AI (artificial intelligence) equipped robot Musio X (Music Ex) for Japanese market. Musio X is a social communication robot equipped with various functions for American English learning. In the conversation mode, users can talk with the robot for English translation of a word, which the robot searches from the internet for the most appropriate answer for the word.

With Musio X teaching material set, user can learn English according to purpose and level using teaching materials. Musio X can be used widely for as pronunciation of alphabet and words with flash card, quiz game style in board book and full-scale English learning with text. Musio X can be used by all family members and especially children will love and learn a lot from this robot.
Musio X (Music Ex) will be available in Japan from April 14th for approximately 98,000 yen ($). For conversation mode, user will have to subscribe for Friend Plan (980 yen / month per user). In conversation mode, Musio X corrects the user’s grammar and translates Japanese and English words.
The main body of Musio X measures 174 × 83 × 218 mm (width × depth × height) and weighs about 850 g. Musio X (Music Ex) works on Android on OS and is powered by an ARM Cortex quad core CPU. The built-in battery (10,800 mAh) lasts for about 10 hours after a full charge.A
