Ares unveils wristwatch-type wearable Android smartphone ARES EC309

Ares Japan today announced a 3G wristwatch-type wearable Android smartphone “ARES EC309”. Unlike wristwatch-type devices that require smartphone as a master device, Ares EC309 is can be used as a smartphone alone. ARES EC309 Android4.0 smartphone is compatible with GSM4 band and 3G WCDMA network. As such, the Wristwatch-type wearable smartphone ARES EC309 can be used in most parts of the world.

The smartphone is powered by a high-speed 1.2 GHz dual-core. With 512MB RAM and 4GB flash storage memory, ARES EC309 boosts a touch screen 240 x 240 pixel LCD.
ARES EC309 is equipped with GPS function, gravity sensor, Wi-Fi, 2-megapixel camera and Bluetooth 4.0. With 180 minutes maximum talk time and 100 hours standby time, ARES EC 309 comes in two pleasing colors-Black and White.
The wearable type smartphone measures 47.5 × 42.0 × 13.0mm and weighs 76g. The watch is rugged as it comes with a silicon strap and a lightweight and durable high rigidity aluminum alloy case. ARES EC309 will be available in Japan from early February for approximately 34,800 yen ($335) .
