    Toshiba has won a major contract from South Korea’s Hyundai Rotem for supply of key electrical equipment and systems for electric locomotives for Korean Railroad Corporation (Korail). The contract covers traction drive systems and auxiliary power supply systems for 56 6,600kW electric freight locomotives. Delivery of the equipment will start in May 2011 and continue through to April of 2012, under a contract with a value of more than 10 billion yen ($108 million).
