South Korea’s leading telecommunications company, SK Telecom, has unveiled an advanced artificial intelligence cloud service in collaboration with U.S.-based cloud computing firm Lambda. The new GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) platform leverages Nvidia’s state-of-the-art H100 GPU, the most advanced graphics processing unit currently available in South Korea.
Designed to meet diverse AI development needs, the service enables users to perform stable AI learning and inference while selecting from a range of GPUs tailored to their specific requirements. SK Telecom also announced plans to integrate Nvidia’s next-generation H200 GPU in the first quarter, positioning itself as the first company in South Korea to adopt this cutting-edge technology.
This initiative is part of SK Telecom’s broader vision to establish South Korea as a leading AI data center hub for the Asia-Pacific region. Announced in November, the plan includes the development of a robust AI infrastructure comprising AI data centers, GPUaaS, and edge AI solutions.
The NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU delivers exceptional performance, scalability, and security for every workload. H100 uses breakthrough innovations based on the NVIDIA Hopper™ architecture to deliver industry-leading conversational AI, speeding up large language models (LLMs) by 30X. H100 also includes a dedicated Transformer Engine to solve trillion-parameter language models.
