Fujitsu announced today that it will be releasing the world’s first Dual Carrier Integrated Coherent Receiver supporting 200G DP-QPSK and 400G DP-xQAM for beyond 100G optical network on February, 2016. Twice the data detection capacity of conventional coherent receivers is achieved by integrating two compact sized integrated coherent receivers into one package. This is accomplished by using PLC along with micro-assembly technologies for high integration and high density mounting of 90° Hybrids, Balanced Receivers, Polarizing Beam Splitters and VOA’s. This product will help facilitate compact, high performance, low power consumption optical network equipment for 200G/400G optical networks. The arrival of the IoT (Internet of Things) age will further accelerate the volume of communications traffic in the future. This has led to the spread of 100G optical networks and increased demand for next-generation beyond 100G optical networks.
The Fujitsu Dual Carrier ICR provides twice the date detection capacity of conventional coherent receivers while maintaining a compact size. This is achieved through integrating dual carrier functionality into one package by using PLC and micro-assembly technologies for high integration and high density mounting for the 90° Hybrids, Balanced Receivers, Polarizing Beam Splitters, VOA and monitor functions. This product enables drastic size reduction for the receiving part of coherent transceivers.
