InnoDisk has announced the availability of the 2.5-inch SATA Flash drive — FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 — which is said to be the highest capacity SLC NAND Flash drive at 128 GB. The 2.5-inch SATA interface has a tough outer metal case, low power consumption, noise-free and anti-shock features. The FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 drive delivers high-performance sustained read and write rates up to 110Mbps and 90Mbps, burst read rates up to 300Mbps and supports Serial ATA 2.0-3Gbps a standard. The 2.5-inch Flash drive offers a random read and write rate of over 9500 and 550 inputs/outs per second (IOPS) for a 512-byte transfer. In comparison to traditional HDD, FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 achieves performance that is approximately 20% higher than the SCSI hard drive.
Inno Disk FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 provides rugged and reliable storage for challenging applications within the enterprise server, military, aerospace, commercial aviation, and industrial markets under harsh environmental conditions. Sampling for the FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 is expected to begin in March 2008 and will ship in volume by Q2 2008 in capacities ranging from 32GB to 128GB.
