NTT Communications Corporation announced today that it will begin offering web application firewalls (WAF) used in both NTT Com’s Enterprise Cloud service and the private-cloud infrastructure of enterprises or service infrastructure of cloud providers. The new function will enable enterprises to use WAF, in addition to basic security functions such as Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and URL filtering, to deploy speedy, affordable security measures for websites operated on cloud infrastructure.NTT Com launched a one-stop unified threat management (UTM) service as an Enterprise Cloud’s optional base in Japan this past January.
The service, which combines IPS software for virtual environments, URL filtering, anti-virus, spam mail prevention for web and email and managed security for enterprise cloud infrastructure and cloud providers’ service infrastructure, will now be expanded in France, Germany, Spain and the U.K from September 30, and additional countries thereafter. This new function as an Enterprise Cloud’s optional base, known as Integrated Security Appliance: Web Security (WAF), beginning September 30 in Japan and from December overseas.
