Panasonic will release next month LF-P968C, a new portable DVD Super-multi DVD burner. The new LF-P968C writes on DVD±R media at 8X, DVD±RW at 6X, DVD-RAM at 5X, DVD±R DL at 4X, CD-R at 24X and CD-RW at 16X. The new model gives the same performance as previous model Panasonic LF-P967C but the new model does not require an external AC power supply. At times when USB bus power is insufficient you can use the AC adaptor bundled with the drive. The supported reading speeds for the PANASONIC LF-P968C are 5X for DVD-RAM, 6X for DVD±R DL/±RW/-ROM DL and 24X for CD-R/-RW/-ROM/. Seek times are 180ms for CD and 150ms for DVD.
The Panasonic portable DVD Super-multi DVD burner LF-P968C measures 135mm x 14.8mm x 135.6mm, weighs approximately 290g and will be available in Japan from April 13th.The drive is compatible with OS Windows 2000/XP/Vista and comes bundled with- AC adapter, power cord, USB cable, quick guide (3 types), CD-ROM and instruction manual, guarantee card.
