PBJ Corporation SmartCaddie EX ultra-mobile PC

PBJ Corporation has announced a new version of their ultra-mobile PC (UMPC) Origami series “SmartCaddie EX” for Japanese market. SmartCaddie EX was first displayed two weeks back at the WPC TOKYO 2006 show. The new model uses Intel Celeron M. processor and is 50g light when compared with the previous model SmartCaddie.The main specs of SmartCaddie EX is as follows: Celeron M 900MHz, Intel 915GMS (video functional built-in) processor, 512MB memory, 30GB HDD and 7” 800×480 pixels (WVGA) touch panel liquid crystal display. The ultra-mobile PC comes loaded with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 as OS. As for the interface you have USB 2.0×2, IEEE 802.11b/g wireless LAN, Bluetooth, SD, /MMC/ memory stick card reader and audio input/output etc.

The base station comes with USB 2.0×4, Gigabit Ethernet, mini- D-Sub15 pin, S video output and AC power source jack. The lithium ion 2,400mAh battery lasts for approximately 2.5 hours. The PBJcorporation ultra-mobile PC (UMPC) Origami series SmartCaddie EX measures 222.5×144×25mm weighs 830 g only and is available from December for approximately 139,800 Yen ($1,170).
