Ricoh Europe today announced the launch of three new multifunctional office solutions, the Aficio MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000. These all-rounders couple Ricoh’s renowned user-friendliness and ecological considerations with an increased productivity of 60, 70 or 80 pages per minute and an exceptionally durable design.

Ricoh multifunctional office solutions, the Aficio MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000 offer a large variety of print, copy, scan, fax, and security functions as well as a wide range of finishing options, while maintaining a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Amstelveen, The Netherlands, June 2008 – Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B.V. today announced the launch of three new multifunctional office solutions, the Aficio™MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000. These all-rounders couple Ricoh’s renowned user-friendliness and ecological considerations with an increased productivity of 60, 70 or 80 pages per minute and an exceptionally durable design. They offer a large variety of print, copy, scan, fax, and security functions as well as a wide range of finishing options, while maintaining a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). The MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000 are specifically targeted at medium to large businesses and workgroups within large enterprises.
“With the launch of the Aficio™MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000, we aim to secure and expand our current top position in the 41 to 69 and 70 to 90 pages per minute (ppm) market segments,” explains Suzanne Racz, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe. “We already had a strong concept, and have further improved it by increasing the copy and print speeds by 5ppm while ensuring lower maintenance costs. In short, our new series is now even more productive with a reduced Total Cost of Ownership. It also features Ricoh’s award winning energy saving capacity recognised by Business Week’s 2005 Race Against Climate Change. In addition, the new multifunctionals are extremely reliable and durable, ensuring that we continue to meet the high standards previously recognised by the Buyers Laboratory Inc, who voted their predecessors Pick of the Year in 2006. Businesses can significantly improve their document flow with our new machines.”
The Aficio™MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000 are equipped to process a high volume workflow at great speed while at the same time delivering an impressive quality standard. Printing at a resolution of 1,200 dpi after a short warm-up time, they have a maximum input capacity of 8,300 sheets. The machines can handle various paper formats, from A3 to A6, and deal with weights of up to 216 g/m2. Duplex printing happens in one pass and at the same speed as simplex printing.
With their new standard Joint Bi-level Image (JBIG) compression, the Aficio™MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000 transmit fax messages at a maximum of 2 seconds. Three lines are simultaneously available through the fax’s multi-port. For a smooth data flow, the machines are equipped with features like Internet fax, fax forwarding via e-mail or directly to a dedicated network folder and paperless or serverless faxing for light users.
Ricoh’s continued focus on providing customers with an optimised workflow translates itself into the adoption of large LCD screens and improved ‘scan to’ functions. Intuitive operation and previews before transmission ensure optimum input accuracy of the daily workflow. Efficient document distribution is facilitated by scan to e-mail, scan to folder, scan to URL, scan to NCP, and LDAP address search functions. To ensure versatile network connectivity, the Aficio™MP 6000, MP 7000 and MP 8000 include standard 1000 Base-T Ethernet which supports data transfer at a fast rate of one Gigabit per second. A wireless LAN interface is optional.
Complete in-house document finishing is made possible with the addition of the wide range of finishing options. Stapling, punching, and Z-folding units are available. Professional-style booklets can be produced using the cover interposer and saddle-stitch unit.
