Sony today announced the new ultra-slim HD-SG5 Hard Drive. The lightweight pocket-size Sony HD-SG5 hard drive keeps valuable data safe while on the go. With a generous capacity of 500GB, the HD-SG5 series offers plenty of space to store and safeguard videos, photos, documents, digital music and more. The slender (8.7mm) aluminium casing and diamond cut logo create a premium look and the scratch-resistant paint layer that keeps the hard drive looking good for longer.
The Sony HD-SG5 hard drives come with smart utility software, providing users convenience and security while using the product on the go. For blazing data transfers from HDD to PC, the Data Transfer Accelerator software reduces transfer time by half (when using transfer via USB 3.0). Even when connected via USB 2.0, the Data Transfer Accelerator software doubles effective transfer rates to slash backup times.
Backup Manager Software takes care of protecting precious files with automated scheduled and incremental backups of users’ data stored in the PC. Available in a choice of black (HD-SG5B) or silver (HD-SG5S) finishes and weighing a travel-friendly 130g, the pocket-sized Sony drives are ideal for business travelers. The new ultra-slim and pocket-sized Sony HD-SG5 hard drive from Sony is available in Europe from February 2014.
