Positioned to become another photography-fan favorite, the new Canon PowerShot S95 camera, sibling of the popular PowerShot S90 camera, has been enhanced with 720p HD video capability and in-camera HDR scene mode. For macro-photography enthusiasts, Canon has built its Hybrid IS technology into the PowerShot S95 camera to compensate for angular and shift camera shake, making it the first PowerShot model to feature Hybrid IS technology. The camera also sports a 3.8x optical zoom and an f/2.0 lens that opens up to 28mm wide with Canon’s Optical Image Stabilization technology, giving consumers a great, wide-angle lens with excellent focus. The3.0” 461k-dot Pure Color II G LCD screen features a tempered glass outer layer, offering enhanced strength, high contrast and a wide viewing angle that offers greater visibility even when shooting in bright conditions. A new RGB histogram available in playback also allows photographers to instantly check the exposure of a shot in detail.
For the advanced amateur shooters, the manual control ring on the front of Canon PowerShot S95 allows the shooter to access manual control options and RAW shooting capabilities, allowing for more photographic creativity. The PowerShot S95 features 720p HD 24fps movie recording with stereo sound. The inclusion of Miniature Effect in movies also adds a completely new dimension to video footage – shooting at a slower frame rate for dramatic and compelling time-lapse-style videos which appear of model scale. An integrated HDMI port with CEC compatibility makes it simple for video and stills to be viewed and controlled directly using a compatible HDTV and remote control. Canon PowerShot S95 Digital Camera is scheduled to be available late August for approximately $399.99.
