Casio EXILIM EX-FR10 Split Camera Enables All-New Ways of Shooting Photos

Casio_EXILIM EX-FR10_selfieCasio announced today the release of the EXILIM EX-FR10 freestyle digital camera. This latest addition to the EXILIM family of digital cameras boasts a modular construction that can be separated easily into two parts—the camera unit and the LCD-equipped controller—making it possible to take various kinds of interesting shots including self-portraits and group shots. The new Casio EXILIM EX-FR10 advances the Element Design approach used with Casio EXILIM TR series of cameras, with a newly designed camera unit that easily separates from the controller body at the press of a button. The Casio EXILIM TR line of cameras launched in 2011, feature a 360° rotating frame that swivels around the lens body and a 270° rotating display, making it possible to take photos from a variety of different angles.

Casio_EXILIM EX-FR10_unitsThe innovative modular design enables “freestyle shooting” of photos without the constraints of holding the camera and pressing the shutter. The detached camera unit can be easily fixed anywhere using one of several attachments and allowing users to shoot photos from all-new angles. When the controller is detached, the user can simply prop the camera unit up on its hinge. Users can shoot a wide range of situations using the strap that comes with the camera and attachments that can easily be fitted and removed.
Casio_EXILIM EX-FR10_useThe camera’s interval shooting function enables automatic hands-free shooting of photos and videos, enabling the user to become the subject of her own photo. The controller connects wirelessly to the camera unit via low-energy-consumption Bluetooth technology. Both the camera unit and controller are dust-proof, splash-proof, and durable enough to withstand a drop of two meters, so users can have fun capturing a wide range of images.
Casio_EXILIM EX-FR10_colorsThe Highlight Photo function automatically generates a single collage photo from recommended still images, just by specifying the shooting date and layout, while the Highlight Movie function automatically generates a single short movie from multiple still images and/or videos, just by specifying a shooting date. Photos and movies, including those created with the Highlight Photo and Highlight Movie functions, can be transferred via Wi-Fi to a smartphone or tablet.
Casio_EXILIM EX-FR10_neck_strapThe Casio EXILIM EX-FR10 freestyle digital camera comes with the Neck Strap for comfortably wearing the camera unit or controller around the neck, and the Carabiner Strap for clipping the controller to a convenient place. The Tripod Nut attaches to commercially-available tripods.
