It has been barely a year since Nikon entered the mirrorless camera arena with its J1, and they are already ready with a sequel to it! Nikon have announced the release of the Nikon 1 J2, which claims to improve upon the Nikon 1 J1 with some new features. It comes with a Creative Mode that provides a variety of photo effects like Panorama, Selective Color, Miniature, Soft, Night Landscape, Backlighting and Night Portraits to users, as well as a higher resolution LCD screen. The Creative Mode also provides easy access to manual exposure controls like one has on D-SLRs. The 11- 27.5mm lens is a super-compact zoom lens which offers 2.5x zoom range without adding any bulk to the piece. Besides, other cool features include a 10.1-megapixel CX-format CMOS sensor, EXPEED 3 image processing engine, a highly responsive Advanced Hybrid Autofocus (AF) system for superfast shooting speed, Full HD video recording, and an astounding 10 frames-per- second (fps) with AF, or up to 60 fps with AF locked on the first frame.
The Nikon 1 J2 comes with an all new metallic body and the addition of stylish new color offerings. It will come in White, Black, Silver and Pink, as well as two new colors, a deep Red and Orange. It will ship in September and will cost $550. This price will also include the same 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens which came with the J1.
