The usually reserved upscale neighborhood of Cheongdam-dong in Seoul was quietly buzzing with excitement on Wednesday. On this day Samsung had invited the media, bloggers and Imageloggers to an exclusive event – the global launch of the NX mini. As the name suggests, Samsung NX is the world’s slimmest and lightest interchangeable-lens camera
The NX mini takes things one step further and creates the perfect experience for taking ‘wefies’ – selfies taken with other people. Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics asked members of the audience to come up to the stage and take a wefie with her. Five people fit easily into the wide flip up display.
Guests were treated to a special talk show with Korean-born and currently New York/Seoul-based fashion model Hyoni Kang. She came on stage carrying a small clutch that held a white NX mini that she’d been testing out over the past few days.
She told the audience that she loved how light it was and that her friends had been impressed with its switchable lenses.
Guests were given the chance to experience the NX mini for themselves. On the upper level of the venue, three different experience zones were set up for guests to play around with the camera’s different features.
Samsung Imageloggers testing the new gear in the Product Display Zone. You can see them trying out the Wink shot feature that allows them to take wefies without raising a finger – they only need to wink at the camera.
