The new Olympus μ 1050SW digital camera with tap control function lets users control the camera’s functionalities by tapping on its various parts. The tap control function allows you to change the camera settings, take pictures, and enjoy your photos and video, just by tapping on the 2.7 inch LCD monitor or sides of the camera. The 10.1 MP water, dust and impact resistant μ 1050SW digital camera comes with 41.6MB built in memory and is compatible with micro SD and micro SDHC card(up to 8 GB). Olympus μ 1050SW water resistance is equivalent to “IPX8” defined by the JIS/IEC standards and can be operated at the depth of up to 3m. The camera has passed 1.5m drop test and can be used at temperatures ranging from -10 to +40°C.
Olympus μ 1050SW measures 93.0 × 62.0 × 22.6mm excluding the projections weigh 152 g (no card/battery) and will be available in Japan from September 4 for approximately 40,000 yen ($365). The μ 1050SW camera is available in silver, gold, blue and pink. Olympus plans to produce 130,000 units per month.
