NXP, the newly independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, today launched a new family of electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection chips designed to support next-generation UXGA PC and 1080p TVs resolutions used in PC notebooks, main boards, TVs, VGA cards, set top boxes and other applications supporting the VGA interface. Offering the highest screen resolutions available on the market today, Ultra eXtended Graphics Array (UXGA) is capable of displaying 1600 x 1200 resolution, or 1.9 million pixels, providing the user with a vibrant viewing experience.
The IP4770/71/72CZ16 family of integrated ESD protection chips provides manufacturers a 90-percent reduction in space at board level, resulting in major cost savings due to the reduced number of components required.
