Avid Technology, Inc. today announced that its Consumer division, Pinnacle Systems, has introduced a new TV viewing product – Pinnacle PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick – for those who want higher mobility for enjoying Digital TV on their laptop and are also interested in new features like Antenna Diversity and multi-tuner reception. Pinnacle PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick represents the next generation digital terrestrial TV (DVB-T) tuner in the form of an ultra-compact USB stick that features Antenna Diversity (AD) technology for maximum reception performance. By using two instead of only one antenna, this technology allows optimal channel reception in weak signal areas, such as indoors or in mobile environments. The built-in Antenna Diversity technology combines the two antenna signals to get the best out of the two antennas connected – resulting in a much more robust reception. Additionally, PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick can be operated in dual tuner mode that allows picture in picture (PiP) or simultaneous recording of two channels.
The included Pinnacle MediaCenter software features TimeShifting, Electronic Programme Guide and Direct-to-DVD recording. Users can also record to their hard drive in MPEG-1/2 and DivX or even directly to PlayStation Portable (PSP) or iPod compatible formats.
