Samsung smart home system to respond to the users’ needs by recognizing their habits and life patterns
In the next two to three years, smart home services will provide an enormous benefit for people—just as smartphones and smart TVs do now. This prediction comes from Won-Pyo Hong, President of Samsung Electronics’ Media Solution Center. During a recent press conference, Mr. Hong commented that in the next two to three years, the pace of innovation within the smart home industry will be faster than that of the past 10 years. Samsung Electronics is quickly setting the pace of innovation, as evident by its recently launched Smart Home service, as well as its efforts in building an integrated Smart Home system through partnerships with Samsung affiliates such as Samsung Techwin, Samsung SDS and S-1.
Samsung is building an open ecosystem that allows external companies across industries to take part in creating a more intelligent and smarter home experience. These industries include telecommunication, consumer electronics, construction, energy and security. Samsung Smart Home service is already in service for those with smartphones built on Android OS 4.0 and higher. Wearable devices like the Gear 2 and the Gear Fit on the Tizen OS platform will join the ranks before the end of this month. Looking ahead, Samsung aims to build a Smart Home system that responds to the users’ needs by recognizing their habits and life patterns.
