Apple Inc said Monday it sold over 1.7 million units of its iPhone 4 globally in the three days following the launch of the latest version of the company’s smartphone. The figure compares with 1 million units sold in the three days following the debut of the previous version of the iPhone in June last year. According to Steve Jobs,this is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history.
The iPhone 4 is available in the United States, Britain, France, Germany and Japan. It will be available in another 17 countries, including Australia, Canada, Italy, South Korea and Sweden, as well as in Hong Kong by the end of July.
