The Japanese tombstone maker Ishinokoe (Voice of Stone) will be offering a unique, new age option for head stones. The tomb allows bereaved family members to keep in touch with their loved ones beyond the grave by using mobile phones to scan the code, placed behind lockable stone doors on the tomb, and view photos and other information about the deceased. These Design QR codes allow those visiting the grave site to access a dedicated mobile site. This package can be purchased along with the tomb stones and allows visitors to view a complete life history of the individual as well as photos and other information uploaded onto the dedication site.
Only people with a key, such as special friends and family members, will be able to open the enclosing chamber door the code is kept behind to scan the code and access the information. The service with the companies granite and marble markers is estimated cost approx. $10,000, plus a monthly admin fee of $50 for the first three years.
