LG announced today that it has marketed the “Disney Mobile on DoCoMo DM-01G,” a new smartphone themed on Disney characters, in Japan. The Disney Mobile on DoCoMo series has been called the “Disney phone” which has been released by Japan’s mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo and Walt Disney Japan. The new model, developed by LG, is the eighth in the Disney Mobile on DoCoMo series. This was the first time for a Korean company to join the series’ production. Thus far, NTT DoCoMo and Walt Disney Japan have cooperated with Japanese companies, including Sharp and Fujitsu.
The new Disney model will reflect through design and user experience the world view of Disney’s five major motion pictures, i.e., Cinderella, Mickey Mouse, Alice in Wonderland, the Little Mermaid, and Frozen. The new LG Disney phone features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display, a laser auto focus function, a selfie function Gesture Shot, an IP67-class water and vibration proof function, and a payment chipset Felica.
