LG Telecom, the smallest telecom carrier in Korea, announced that it will change its company name to LG U+ which is aimed at growing beyond its traditional telecommunication business area. LG U+ means leading to a ubiquitous world centered on customers and creating new value. The U in LG U+ implies anytime, anywhere, and anything for customers and + means giving additional value to customers. Established in July 1996, LG Telecom merged with LG Dacom and LG Powercomm last year. After approval at a shareholder meeting next month, LG Telecom plans to use the new company name from July.
