LG will introduce a new line-up of mobile DVD players and cell phones with digital TV features at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next year. The new products — a portable DVD player and three mobile phone models — allow users to view digital programming in a vehicle moving as fast as 290 kilometers per hour. LG also manufactures chips that receive digital TV feeds, has recently completed developing a second-generation chip with improved efficiency and performance.

LG is currently the world’s second-largest TV maker trailing behind its local rival Samsung Electronics. LG plans to ramp up its TV business next year, introducing borderless flat-panel and three-dimensional TVs to the global market.
