Samsung has sold more than 10 million Galaxy S3 smartphones around the world just about 50 days after it was released. Samsung’s latest smartphone became a 10-million seller less than two months after the release on May 29, a daily average of nearly 190,000 units. The Galaxy S3 breaks Samsung’s own earlier record for the fastest sale of 10 million phones. The Galaxy S sold 10 million in seven months and the Galaxy S2 in five months.
Experts predict that the S3 will sell 40 million by year’s end since a large portion of the second-quarter supply of the gadget had to be carried over to the third quarter due to a shortage of components and because Apple is not expected to release its new iPhone until September or October.
