Sony launches NFC enabled waterproof Smartwatch 2 SW2

Sony today launched Smartwatch 2 SW2 for Xperia Smartphone users in Japan. The Smartwatch will be available directly from Xperia mobile store for approximately 14,800 yen ($151). Also will be on sale the Smart imaging stand IPT-DS10M for 11,800 yen ($120). The Sony Smartwatch is available at a special discount price of 9,980 for buyers of Xperia Z1/Z/A/UL. In addition to being able to check for updates information mail and incoming call, SMS in conjunction with smartphones that run on Android 4.0 or a subsequent version. Operation of music playback, SMS Reply with pre-configured, and retweets on Twitter is can be carried. It can also be used as a clock alone.


At present Samsung Galaxy Gear is only compatible with Samsung’s large Galaxy Note 3. Sony smartwatch 2 SW2 with built in lithium ion battery can be charged via the built in micro USB port. Sony smartwatch 2 SW2 measures 41 × 42 × 9mm and weighs 48g with the wristband. Sony Smartwatch costs approximately $100 less than Samsung Galaxy Gear.
