JVC Kenwood announced today a compact vertical home radio RA-C80BT-B compatible with wide FM for Japanese market. In addition to radio broadcasting, JVC home radio RA-C80BT-B can be used vertically also. User can enjoy crystal clear music from smartphones, tablets via Bluetooth. The built in LCD display comes with a three stage dimmer function, so the radio can be used at bedside during night also. Line input terminal allows the radio to be used as a speaker. In addition, a stereo mini headphone output is also available.
Besides wide FM (FM free broadcasting), user can enjoy AM radio programs also. Four stations can be stored with the four touch button placed on the top of the radio. The operation is very easy to understand with the Japanese notation. The alarm function can be set either in buzzer or FM radio mode. The auto standby function automatically turns off the power if you do not operate for 15 minutes, and eco standby mode turns off the display during standby.
The JVC radio RA-C80BT-B is powered by both AC power and 2 AA batteries. With fresh AA batteries radio can be played for about 25 hours- good for outdoor activities. Compliant with Bluetooth 5.0, the profile supports A2DP/AVRCP. The codec is SBC. The maximum practical output is 3W. Power consumption is rated at 2W, 0.4W or less at standby, 0.2W or less at eco-standby. The external dimensions are 90 x 97 x 164 mm (width x depth x height). JVC home radio RA-C80BT-B weighs about 470g and will be available in Japan by this month end for approximately 8,000 yen($75).
