Tokyo metro will install 10 DVD vending machines with up to 330 titles each for 24 hrs a day for commuters who wish to watch movies at home etc.Each DVD rental will be 350 Yen for 24 hrs. As a special promo commuters can keep DVD for three days for 350 Yen ($3). This scheme is valid for 3 days from August 25th.Payment can be made via VISA/MASTER/JCB/AMEX/NICOS/UFJ credit Cards. Customers will have to register themselves first via PC/telephone to avail this facility. The machines will be installed in 10 heavily trafficked stations: Omotesando, Otemachi, Roppongi, Tameike Sanno, Azabu Juban, Ueno, Nihonbashi, Yotsuya, Shinjuku and Hibiya.
The DVD vending machine made by a company Astala Vista, has a 17” LCD for customers to choose the title measures 700×650×1,900mm.
