Honda unveiled its highly anticipated BF300 large-size outboard motor at the 2025 Düsseldorf Boat Show in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. This latest addition to Honda’s marine lineup leverages the advanced 4,952 cm³ (302 in³) V8 engine technology developed for the flagship BF350, which debuted in February 2024. The BF300 delivers an impressive 300 horsepower, providing robust propulsion and exceptional performance. Notably, this powerful outboard motor is designed to run on regular gasoline, underscoring Honda’s commitment to efficiency and accessibility.
The BF300 combines high performance with enhanced functionality to ensure an outstanding boating experience. It inherits key innovations from the BF350, including a cruise control function that allows for precise control of boat speed or engine RPM and a trim support function that automatically adjusts the trim angle to maintain one of several preset patterns for optimal performance. To further enhance usability, the BF300 introduces an automatic tilt function, enabling fully automated up-and-down tilting of the outboard motor for effortless docking and storage. Maintenance has also been simplified with a reengineered engine cover and oil filter design, allowing for easier attachment and detachment to reduce user effort.
The BF300 boasts a refined, slim design that harmonizes with various hull shapes and operational environments. Its high-rigidity construction and premium finish ensure durability and a sleek aesthetic. Designed to deliver a smoother, more comfortable boating experience, the BF300 represents the perfect blend of power, convenience, and innovation. The BF300 is slated for a phased global rollout, launching in Japan, Europe, and Asia by the end of 2025.
