The Olympus DM-901 audio recorder unites premium sound quality with new mobile features for easy note-taking in any situation. For the first time on an Olympus recorder, Wi-Fi links the DM-901 to a user’s smartphone, from which an available app can remotely trigger the DM-901 to record on command. The Olympus Audio Controller Smartphone app also features a new Visual Index tool that makes searching and managing recordings easier. Using a smartphone, apply available icons or even images taken with the phone and link them to specific parts of the DM-901’s sound file’s timeline. Recorded files can also be easily stored online in Dropbox by uploading them via a Smartphone. Users who share folders can access the files anytime from any device with the app.
The recorder’s high-definition 2.0-inch color LCD provides greater resolution and contrast than a black-and-white display. An improved button layout features Scene Select, so users can make fail-proof, high-quality recordings at a moment’s notice by presetting the optimum recording settings. The DM-901 supports three high-quality recording formats: linear PCM, MP3 and WMA. The DM-901 has a built-in 4GB memory for storage of multiple recordings, up to 850 hours, and its memory can be expanded up to 64GB via a removable SD/SDHC card (not included), simplifying the transfer of files from the recorder. The DM-901 offers an impressive 29 hours of battery life. The DM-901 will be available in early February, 2014.
