Two additional structures, the UFO and A Room With a View, are scheduled to open at the Swedish Treehotel in Harads, 60km south of the Arctic Circle. The room is cast in durable compost material – all to create the lightest, yet strong and sustainable design possible. The interior gives the room a modern and comfortable feel over two floors. The UFO is built for four people, two adults and two children, with separate bedrooms, bathroom and living area. UFO is all you need for a comfortable escape to childhood dreams. Treehotel is inspired by the film The Tree Lover by Jonas Selberg Augustsen. It’s a tale of three men from the city who want to go back to their roots by building a tree house together. The Tree Lover is a philosophic story about the significance of trees for us human beings.
The ambitious new hotel concept in the European country has transformed the humble treehouse into one of the country’s most sought-after places to stay. The idea behind Treehotel is to offer high-standard accommodation in a harmonious place where daily stress melts away. The forest complex also features a sauna and a breakfast room. Treehotel is in Harads near the Lule River, about seven miles from Luleå airport and four miles upstream from Boden.
The village has a population of about 600 and features a restaurant, shop and guest house. When you arrive at Treehotel, you check in first at Britta’s Pensionat. Then it’s just a short stroll through the beautiful nature to your treeroom.
