Yoshikis crystal piano gets $73 million bid at tsunami auction

An online bidder has pledged a staggering 6 billion yen ($73 million) for Yoshiki’s crystal piano put up for a tsunami charity auction by the heavy metal band musician according to Yahoo Japan. Yahoo Japan had to suspend the auction after the bidding price for the piano belonging to Yoshiki of X Japan hit six billion yen earlier this week. Yahoo has emailed the bidder to confirm the intention to buy the piano. Sato said Thursday that the bidder has not yet responded. Yahoo will wait for several days.


Yoshiki is among 280 artists, athletes and celebrities who joined the auction to raise money for reconstruction efforts. Yoshiki Hayashi born November 20, 1965, in Tateyama( Japan) is a musician, songwriter and record producer. He is primarily known as co-founder of the popular rock band X Japan, for which he plays drums and piano and writes most of the music. After the band disbanded in 1997 he participated in several other musical acts and produced for numerous artists. In 2007 X Japan reunited and he has been performing with them since.
