A carriage of the Maglev bullet train series planned to run between Tokyo and Nagoya from 2027 was unveiled at a test line in Japan by the Central Japan Railway. The front carriage, 28 meters long, 2.9 meters wide and 3.1 meters tall, is decorated with a blue stripe on a white base. The front carriage can carry 24 passengers, while other carriages on the train can carry 68 passengers each. The train will be capable of a maximum speed of 500 kilometers per hour.
So far, five carriages for the Maglev train have been made by Nippon Sharyo and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Test runs will be carried out after ongoing work to extend the test line is completed by next year.
