Epson has begun shipping samples of the S2D13P04, a new multi-camera analog interface IC for automotive applications. The new Epson S2D13P04 IC can combine images from multiple sides of the vehicle, helping to eliminate blind spots and enabling a higher level of driving safety. Equipped with four NTSC/PAL decoders, the Epson S2D13P04 can be connected to up to four analog cameras and concurrently decode the four video channels. Images from each camera are synchronized to output a digital signal with a stable frame rate to reduce the loads of imaging processing LSI. Also, incorporating four decoders lowers system costs by reducing the total number of necessary system components.
