Honda today held a press conference at Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport) to mark the start of a world tour of HondaJet, a light business jet aircraft of Honda Aircraft Company. HondaJet landed at Haneda Airport this afternoon and made its public debut in Japan at the press conference. The HondaJet world tour will officially begin from Japan with the HondaJet scheduled to make appearances at several airports, including Narita International Airport. Honda Aircraft Company will showcase the advanced light jet at public events from Friday, April 25 to Tuesday, May 5. These special events will include static displays of the aircraft as well as flight demonstrations.
The HondaJet will travel from Japan to Europe for the 15th annual European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland, May 19 – May 21. For the first time, the HondaJet will be on static display at the Geneva International Airport as part of Honda Aircraft Company’s presence at Europe’s largest business aviation event. For the world tour, the HondaJet is scheduled to travel more than 48,000 km in total.
The HondaJet is the world’s most advanced light business jet aircraft, with best-in-class advantages in performance, comfort, quality and efficiency. The HondaJet is the fastest, highest-flying, quietest, and most fuel-efficient jet in its class.
The HondaJet incorporates many technological innovations in aviation design, including the unique Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration that dramatically improves performance and fuel efficiency by reducing aerodynamic drag. The OTWEM design also reduces cabin sound, minimizes ground-detected noise, and allows for the roomiest cabin in its class, the largest baggage capacity, and a fully serviceable private aft lavatory. The HondaJet is Honda’s first commercial aircraft and lives up to the company’s reputation for superior performance, efficiency, quality and value.
