Suzuki Japan launched sales on Thursday of the new MR Wagon minivehicle after its first full remodeling in five years gave it a new engine and continuously variable transmission in Japan. The new MR Wagon is more fuel-efficient, at 25.5 km per liter, up 16 percent from the previous model, and comes with a touch-panel audio system aimed at attracting customers in their 20s, the company said.
The annual sales target for the remodeled version, which is priced between ¥1.13 million ($13,640) and ¥1.51 million ($18,100) and qualifies for the Japanese government’s green car tax incentive, is set at 36,000 units.
