Toyota Launches all-new seventh-generation Camry in U.S.

Toyota introduced today the all-new, seventh-generation Camry, America’s best-selling car for nine years running and 13 of the past 14 years. The 2012 Camry debuts a bold, sophisticated new design with a more spacious interior, improved driving dynamics and an even quieter ride than before. With class leading safety, fuel economy and multi-media technology added in, the end result is the best Camry ever made.

The 2012 Camry sports sophisticated restyling that enhances its presence and further improves the vehicle’s renowned spacious interior, excellent handling, cruising stability and quiet ride. The vehicle comes in three powertrain versions: 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder, 3.5-liter V6, and 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder gasoline-electric hybrid. All have improved fuel efficiency over their corresponding predecessors, with the 2012 Camry Hybrid in particular achieving a 30% increase with a U.S. EPA-estimated city fuel-economy rating of 43 mpg .

Since the Camry was launched in the U.S. in 1983, it has been highly praised for its outstanding quality, its reliability and its comfortable ride. The Camry, established as the benchmark of medium-sized sedans, has sold more than 14 million units worldwide as of the end of 2010.
