Yamaha launches Mio J 115cc automatic transmission commuter model for the Indonesian market

Yamaha Motor today announced the release of the Mio J 115cc automatic transmission commuter model to be launched on the Indonesian market in early February 2012. The Yamaha Mio J 115cc automatic transmission commuter model achieves 30% greater fuel economy compared to the previous model. The new Yamaha Mio J mounts a newly designed 115cc engine with fuel injection provided by the YMJET-FI system that helps achieve class-leading levels of fuel economy and cost performance. In addition, the design motif has been renewed with an S-line running through the body with styling that brings compactness, storage capacity and comfort together into one package.

Indonesia’s motorcycle market scale is approximately eight million units a year (Yamaha Motor survey, 2011 results) and around 50% of these are automatic models with the Mio series playing an important role. The new Mio J was developed to provide even greater outstanding fuel economy and cost performance to customers in the automatic commuter market, especially in the urban centers of Indonesia’s growing economy. The Yamaha Mio J is manufactured and marketed by group company PT. Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM).
