Snapdragon announced the new power-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 1100 processor for wearable health bands. The new processor with integrated 4G LTE and next generation Qualcomm IZat location technology, is designed for targeted-purpose wearables, such as connected kid and elderly watches, fitness trackers, smart headsets, and wearable accessories.
Snapdragon Wear 1100 not only includes the latest location technology allowing it to sync with all four satellite constellations (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo), it’s engineered to do so securely with hardware-based security to provide secure location. Kid watches and elderly wearables that incorporate geo-fencing technology for safety monitoring applications can count on the Snapdragon Wear 1100 to accurately track that which is most precious.
With support for voice, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, the Snapdragon Wear 1100 is designed to help ensure a seamlessly connected mobile experience. It includes an integrated application processor supporting Linux and RTOS software platforms. The global multi-mode 4G LTE CAT 1 modem supports data transfers speeds up to 10Mbps, and works with most networks including LTE FDD, LTE TDD, TD-SCDMA and GSM. The Snapdragon Wear 1100 is available now and a numbers of companies announced products based on it at Computex.
